Ce navire h\u00e9berge 12\u00a0membres d\u2019\u00e9quipage dans trois cabines et au gaillard d\u2019avant. Sa coque est faite d\u2019un mat\u00e9riau composite avec un platelage de sapin et de kevlar \u00e0 saturation \u00e9lev\u00e9e en r\u00e9sine \u00e9poxyde et envelopp\u00e9 dans une gaine de fibre de verre. Le pont est en sapin, les espars sont en \u00e9pic\u00e9a et les finitions en acajou du Honduras. L\u2019int\u00e9rieur est fait en panneaux d\u2019acacia Koa et de teck. Le <i>Tree of Life<\/i>, ses propri\u00e9taires et un \u00e9quipage de quatre membres plus deux stagiaires ont pris la mer \u00e0 Newport en octobre 2002 pour faire le tour du monde en trois ans, en passant par les Bermudes, Saint-Martin, les Cara\u00efbes et Grenade, puis en faisant cap vers l\u2019ouest pour rejoindre le V\u00e9n\u00e9zu\u00e9la, la Colombie, les \u00eeles San Blas, Panama, l\u2019\u00c9quateur, les \u00eeles Galapagos, l\u2019\u00eele de P\u00e2ques, l\u2019\u00eele Pitcairn, l\u2019archipel Gambier et Tahiti.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">En 2003, le <i>Tree of Life<\/i> a pass\u00e9 cinq mois \u00e0 Auckland, en Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande, apr\u00e8s \u00eatre pass\u00e9 par Bora Bora, les \u00eeles Cook du sud et Fiji pour la Coupe America. Il a travers\u00e9 l\u2019oc\u00e9an Indien pour rejoindre Le Cap, en Afrique du Sud, puis l\u2019oc\u00e9an Atlantique pour rejoindre Antigua pour la r\u00e9gate <i>Classic Race Week<\/i>, Saint-Barth, Saint-Martin, les \u00eeles Turks et Caicos, les Bahamas, Palm Beach et enfin son point de d\u00e9part \u00e0 Newport, RI. Les propri\u00e9taires sont rest\u00e9s \u00e0 bord pendant l\u2019int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 du p\u00e9riple.
