L\u2019ALEXANDER von HUMBOLDT II est construit selon un mod\u00e8le classique de trois-m\u00e2ts barque\u00a0: le trinquet et le grand m\u00e2t portent des voiles carr\u00e9es, tandis que le m\u00e2t arri\u00e8re (m\u00e2t d\u2019artimon) porte des voiles \u00e0 corne. En tout et partout, l\u2019ALEX-2 est propuls\u00e9 par 24\u00a0voiles totalisant 1\u00a0360\u00a0m2<\/sup>. Quand les vents sont favorables, sa vitesse peut atteindre 14\u00a0n\u0153uds.
