Digby

Settled in 1783 and located on the Annapolis Basin, an inlet of the Bay of Fundy, Digby is a working fishing port that is also a favourite destination for history, nature, adventure and food lovers. Home to the largest scallop fishery on the planet, Digby is known as the Scallop Capital of the World.

Walking through town, visitors will find a mix of friendly shops, restaurants and galleries, rubbing shoulders with real boat builders and other ocean-based trades. The waterfront boardwalk offers views of the historic Annapolis Basin, where some of the first tall ships arrived in the early 1600’s. Its location on the Bay of Fundy, means you can witness the world’s highest tides in action. Or head out on the waves for an unforgettable whale-watching adventure. Nearby, you’ll find plenty of places to swim, kayak, hike, cycle and an 18-hole course to play a round or two.
